We are pleased to have three Youth Work Students on placement with us from the University of Derby.  They will be here for 9 weeks in total.  Welcome to Charlotte, Chris & Emma!

Charlotte: I am a 3rd year student and I enjoy music and camping so enjoy regular festival trips! I am passionate about working with young people creatively, with arts & crafts, games and discussions. Whilst on placement I will be undertaking a management project and look forward to completing my final university placement with NUH Youth Service.

Chris: I’m really looking forward to the opportunities I will experience when I’m here. I wanted this placement to give me an outlook on Youth Work in an unfamiliar setting.  I hope to gain new skills from both the team and from the young people and apply them in future Youth Work.  I love using music as a way of engagement and there is nothing wrong with a good game of football!

Emma: I organised my own placement to be involved at the Youth Service because I wanted to work in an environment that wasn’t mainstream. I haven’t been working here long but they have welcomed me with open arms and allowed me to gain opportunities in working with the young people in many different settings. The staff are very welcoming and offer support for anyone who would just want to talk, the staff have also been very supportive of the students on placement. I enjoy arts & crafts because I like making things alongside young people!
