Meet the team!

Donna Hilton

Youth Service Manager

Donna has been involved in NUH Youth Service since the beginning and is responsible for the establishment and development of the service over the past 26 years. She has progressed from an initial Youth Development Worker within renal services to now overseeing the management of Youth Services across NUH. Donna is also championing Health-Based Youth Work on a national scale. She is chair of the national Health-Based Youth Worker's Group (HWYWG) and is involved in a national Health-based Youth Work Research project.         Donna loves a board game or 2 and is keen to demonstrate young people's life skills development through the board game group.

Clare Alderson

Senior Youth Worker

Clare is involved with supporting young people with all long-term health conditions. Clare has worked with young people for many years in various different settings in Derby, Nottingham and Hull- the latter being where she completed her degree in Youth Work and Community Development. Clare started in our team as a Renal Youth Worker and is now part of the Senior team. She has a keen interest in Healthcare Transition and accreditation work with young people.

Sian Caulton

Senior Youth Worker

Sian is one of our Senior Youth Workers.  Sian has a wealth of experience in supporting young people with health conditions; she worked as a sexual health advisor for young people for 8 years and went on to support young people with a cancer diagnosis in the East Midlands. Sian leads on group projects such as Youth Voice, Guts & Glory Gastro Group and the Aspire Programme.

Sarah Thompson

Emotional Health Youth Worker
Sarah, our Emotional Health Youth Worker, joined the team in January 2024.
Sarah has had a few interesting jobs before gaining a degree in Youth & Community work, with a mental health pathway, and finally following her passion to support young people to promote and improve their wellbeing.
Sarah’s former endeavours include being a beauty therapist and running a crisp factory! She has spent the last 3 years working in CAMHS and understands how mental health conditions can affect young people and the challenges of everyday life.
Sarah is an approachable, fun person who is empathetic and a really good listener. She has embedded herself into the team and enjoyed meeting the young people and getting stuck in with lots of activities and 1-2-1 sessions.

Chris Seager

Renal Youth Worker
Chris has been a Youth Worker for around 17 years and has worked with Young People from all kinds of backgrounds. He has always wanted to work young people with long term health conditions, since doing a placement with us several years ago, and is really excited to finally have joined the team in June this year.
Chris loves playing board and card games and will always jump at the chance to learn a new game.
He is really excited to be part of the NUH Youth Team and really looking forward to meeting everyone.

Heather Hibberd

Rheumatology Youth Worker
Heather is the Youth Worker for the Rheumatology team, be supporting young people aged between 11 – 21 years living with rheumatoid conditions such as JIA and uveitis.
She has been a Youth Worker for 12 years and worked in various roles including Leaving Care and supporting young people who have been victims of trafficking and exploitation.
